This is a review a weekly food subscription box called Blue Apron. This week we gave one recipe five out of five stars, one recipe four stars and one recipe three stars. Calories ranged from 610 to 760. Preparation time indicated on the recipe cards ranged from forty-five to sixty minutes. Actual preparation time was from forty-five to fifty-three minutes.

Chicken Under a Brick with Roasted Vegetables & Italian Dressing

This recipe was disappointing. There wasn't much meat on the chicken so it wasn't very filling. The photo on the recipe card shows half a chicken as a serving, so I was surprised when we only received one half. It didn't have any instructions on cutting it in half to serve two people. The white wine vinegar leaked during shipping. The directions for cooking the potatoes and chicken caused them to be undercooked. The garlic burnt so we had to prepare more. There were a ton of carrots though. We gave this one two to three stars. The recipe indicated preparation time of forty-five to fifty-five minutes. Actual preparation time was forty-five minutes. It has 760 calories.

Seared Salmon & Lemon Labneh with Freekeh, Kale & Dates

We both loved this recipe and gave it five out of five stars. The lemon labneh topping on the salmon was awesome. The freekeh and kale together were delicious. This one indicates fifty to sixty minutes preparation time. Actual preparation time was thirty-nine minutes. It has only 610 calories and it was filling.

Fontina Stuffed Pork Chops with Potatoes & Pizzaiola Sauce

Hubby gave this recipe four out of five stars and I gave it three. The stuffing in the pork chops was scrumptious, but I would have liked a bit more of the cheese. The fontina cheese was a nice complement to the boneless pork chops.  We both prefer pork chops that still have their bone, pork just tastes better cooked that way. I wasn't crazy about the mini red sweet peppers. Red peppers always give me heartburn. The ones pictured on the recipe card were orange. I didn't like the addition of sugar in the sauce, it wasn't necessary. The preparation time indicated on the recipe card is fifty to sixty minutes. Actual preparation time was fifty-three minutes. This one has 670 calories.

Please excuse the use of paper plates in the photos, we are in the process of moving and Hubby already packed our lovely dishes. It was mostly an enjoyable week of recipes.
